2nd Annual Remlinger Farm Visit

Well, we made the trek out to Remlinger Farm for it's annual Pumpkin Extravaganza! Last year we went with Mandy's niece Lydia and family and decided it was so fun we'd make a tradition out of it! Mandy invited her kids she nanny's for this year, so Lydia wouldn't be the only child. We decided we'd look a little ridiculous if 7 adults walked in with one child!

Natalie and Lydia ready to go in! They had a great time riding a train, going horse back riding, jumping and throwing hay in the hay jump/pit.

Natalie, Lydia, and Andrew enjoying a canoe ride together... Andrew mischievously trying to tip the girls out!! It was a fun day for all!!

Freaks Geeks and Us...

...We don't know where we fit in but twice a year we brave the crowds at the Seattle Public Library Book Sale. Hardcovers are a dollar and paperback are fifty cents. It's quite the event, some people are buying for their online shops, then there are the teachers buying for their classrooms, then there are people like Ben and Mandy who just like digging through mountains of stuff to find a few treasures. Mandy's mom and sister Carrie joined us this year, they couldn't believe the crowds and the old airplane hangar (where the sale is located) that was filled with tables and tables of books.
We left the sale with about fifty books! Ben was excited to leave with all of the books that the Jason Bourne movies were based on. (Bourne Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum) Mandy was excited to get lots of kid favorites to share with the little squirts she nanny's for.

Ben 25 and Anniversary 1

The day after we got back from Hawaii we celebrated Ben's 25th Birthday at Mandy's mom & dad's house. Mandy's mom had also defrosted some cupcakes from our wedding a year ago! So we braved it and gave them a try...

Look fimiliar?
We thought they wouldn't taste the same unless we smooshed them into each others faces again... we were right!

Last Hawaii Post We Promise

Here are two pictures of when we went para sailing in Oahu! Ben thought it was pretty fun but Mandy was scared for her life! We both love to go on amusement park rides so we thought the thrill of this would be similar! Mandy discovered there is a HUGE difference between the two. When you are on a roller coaster you are sitting in a car that is on a track that is bolted to the ground. When you para sail the only thing that is keeping you from, (as Mandy likes to put it) "flying off into oblivion" is a skinny rope and a few knots. If that wasn't bad enough our rope was fraying!
Yes that speck in the sky is us!!! Just floating around at 1000 ft! Mandy was freaked that a plane was going to hit us!

Kauai Time

We're finally getting around to uploading some of our Kauai photos. We spent to last 4 days of our trip their with our good friends Shannon, Tom, and Andrew!

Shannon recommended we stayed at the Grand Hyatt on Kauai for 2 days! It was exquisite! We floated through the salt water lagoons, and a lazy river one day from about 8 in the morning until 4 that afternoon. (With a short lunch break in between.) We were all pretty pruney afterwards!

We went snorkeling off the Na Pali Coast and saw spinner dolphins, sea turtles, and tons of colorful fish! We sailed off from the southern shores of Kauai and road to the western side of the island, it took about 2 hours to get there. The Na Pali coast is a location that can only be reached by boat or helicopter, this makes it a desirable place to go snorkeling. There isn't as much human traffic so the reefs are really well preserved.

Fun Trivia Fact: You've probably seen parts of the Na Pali coast in the following movies

Jurassic Park

6 Days 7 Nights

King Kong

Two dorks enjoying our last night in Kauai, taken on Poi Pu beach. Coming soon: We've found a way to post a slide show on our blog, so I'll load all of our photo's from Hawaii onto a slide show and if you want to view them you can.
