Christmas in the Northwest
Just a few shots of the tree for family and friends who can't join us for the holidays!
Sending warm wishes and holiday hugs all month long!
Mount Entertainment Weekly, Real Simple, Spin, Everyday Food, Seattle Metropolitan, Rolling Stone...
Ben decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to clean out his magazine collections. We get a few magazines each month and when we don't have time to read them entirely we stick them in a box 'to go through' later. The boxes can fill up quickly! As Ben started going through his magazines and I went through mine we began to make an impressive stack. We decided to keep the stack going until every last magazine had been read; well at least until the new issues come this month. Ben told me he wanted to take a picture of the stack because it seemed humorously high. I thought a picture of just the 'stack' would be boring so I tried to convince Ben to sit on it... representing something he conquered! He refused. So I decided I would sit and he would snap the shot. I set up the magazines in the middle of the room and placed boxes behind them for support. As I sat down (on the slippery) stack, Ben was there to catch my reaction as the moutain slid out from underneath me... but as any real model knows, the shoot must go on! I managed to hang on long enough for a respectable shot to be taken!

Snow Day!
A few days before Thanksgiving, Seattle was hit with a little bit of snow! Anytime we get even just a 'little bit' of snow it is a big deal. I was able to spend one day out in the snow with the kids I nanny. We had a great time; there were some snow ball fights, snow eating, (don't worry I told them to avoid the yellow snow) and icicle searching.

Seafair Weekend
Here are a few more shots that were on the long lost memory card I found a couple days ago. The Blue Angels soared over Seattle Seafair weekend... probably sometime in July. Honestly, I can't remember the exact weekend, but it was sometime last summer. :-) We were invited to a friends house to watch the 'warm-up' or 'practice show' on Saturday afternoon. Our friends have a house right on Lake Washington, positioned a little bit to the left of 1-90. I've seen the Blue Angels from a distance many many times, but I can't really remember ever having them fly right over my head. It was awesome! (And loud.)
Typical Seattle, the skies opened up and it rain for almost the entire show. Oh well, it was still fun!
