Hey Jude (a plug for a lesser known)

I have been meaning to post this but it got lost in between moving. A couple of Thursday's ago, Mandy, Joseph and I went to the Tractor Tavern in Ballard to catch one of my favorite singer songwriters, Jude. He does not come very often and the last time I saw him was at the same place in October of 2006. As expected there was around 75 people there (an improvement from two years ago when there was about 30 in attendance). He played for two hours and just as last time he took plenty of requests. For those of you who have not been, The Tractor is a pretty cool place to see a show if not for the intimate setting then at least for the $7 tickets!
Jude is very popular in France and throughout Europe, in fact he even was a guest on France's version of American Idol called Nouvelle Star. For some reason he hasn't really caught on in the states the way I think he could; but maybe it is for the best. His shows have an intimate feel that I imagine would not be the same if he was playing in Key Arena.

So if you are ever in the mood for something mellow you should check out Jude. I've included a video of him playing one of my favorite of his songs a few years back. If you check out his site you can listen to some free songs. Oh and for all you Lost nerds he is the guy who wrote all of the music for Charlie's band Driveshaft and their hit "You all Everybody".

Actually pretty impressed with Jude. good laid back tunes to listen to when you wanna relax. probably buy the mp3s for my ipod. we don't hear much from the independent circuit here in idaho. all we get to come here are the old 70s rock bands like nazareth and all the guys are like 60 and don't sound the same.
